BEAVERCREEK — Lorraine Alison Stephens (nee Latter), age 62 of Beavercreek, passed to her eternal rest on May 9th, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert Burns Stephens; son, Brian of New Orleans; daughter, Kathryn and husband Bill Semons, and grandchildren, Jillian and William (Wes) of Beavercreek; her parents, Keith and Norma Latter of Woodstock, Ontario, Canada; sister, Barbara Yeoman and husband Ken of Woodstock; and brother Andrew and wife Janet of Langley, British Columbia, Canada; as well as nieces and nephews. Lorraine was a Registered Nurse graduate of Fanshaw College, St. Joseph's Hospital, London, Ontario, Canada in 1975 and graduated from Antioch College, Yellow Springs, Ohio with a Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration in 2001. Over her career she nursed in many specialties in the provinces of Ontario and Manitoba, and in the state of Ohio. Lorraine retired from the Kettering Medical Network in 2014 due to the demands of her health. Lorraine's memorial service will be held on Monday May 23, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. at the Abiding Christ Lutheran Church, 326 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastors Sue Nelson and Craig Fourman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church. A light lunch to follow. A memorial service in Lorraine's and Rob's hometown of Woodstock, Ontario will be held on Saturday July 2, 2016 with a time and place yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leiomyosarcoma Direct Research Foundation (lmsdr.org) or to Hospice of Dayton (hospiceofdayton.org).
